The 2017 reunion
The grand reunion was held on the August Bank Holiday weekend of 26 Aug 2017. About 20 had indicated their intention to come but a few got the hump and didn’t show up on the day. Their loss. It was a fantastic event and even the weather was great (yes, unprecedented, a dry and sunny 3-day UK bank holiday!). In the event some who had only intended to join for part of the weekend chose to stay longer and we did the local catering industry a great favour, disposing of industrial quantities of beer in half a dozen different hostelries. But it wasn’t all food and beer: reminiscences, photo archives and a couple of very pleasant walks in Monsal Dale. It was great to have Dave Rennison there having travelled from his home in Spain, otherwise we’d probably never have seen him again as he died just two years later.
Maybe we’ll do it again sometime, watch this space…
